No matter how adept a marketer you develop into, youll still be a finite human being. We vigorously urge you to be fruitful, and multiply your small business marketing efforts by creating a core team made up of key employees. You already know who the achievers are in your company. Theyre that 20% of the workforce that is dedicated to the company and excels in their positions. They are the people that the company is built upon. Pick four or five from this group of achievers and create a mini marketing advisory board to aid you. We like to call this group the Bloom Team. Your job is to provide the seed, the core kernels of the marketing ideas, and to nurture them along. The achievers will amplify your efforts and spread them to the rest of the company and to your customer base. Once that happens, your marketing efforts will grow nicely. Your ongoing use of the Bloom Team will lift your company to a level far beyond what you can achieve by slugging through the tough job of marketing all alone. Dont fool yourself; it wont be easy. Welding together a functional team of co-workers is a challenge for anybody. If you dont have extensive marketing training yourself, some employees may see you as actually being inferior in ability to them. Others will see the formation of a team as a waste of their time; a situation that will not effect any good change for the company and simply inflict more work on them. You dont need negative people on the Bloom Team, but neither is it wise to fill it with yes-men (or yes-women) that will simply go along with all your ideas. Above all, you need people you can trust and who want to see the company grow. If they have these two qualities, you can work with them to build a team that will help your company grow through much improved marketing. A useful acronym for the ways you can leverage the achiever group is VIC: - Validate
- Implement
- Criticize
