Low Libido

Low libido, or low sex drive, is a common problem facing millions of people today. Different people have different degrees of libido, and even the desire for sex changes within the same individual according to the circumstances. It is seen that libido tends to decrease as a man ages. Persistent low libido can put a man and his sex partner in distress.

Low libido can be caused due to various reasons. However, all the reason for the decease in sexual activity and interest is not always obvious. Some of the most common causes in the decrease of libido can be psychological issues (such as anxiety or stress), physical conditions (such as surgery or illness), or depression, pain, and fatigue. Low libido is also associated with pregnancy and aging. Some drugs such as those used to treat depression, anxiety, or high blood pressure, and decreased levels of testosterone can also result in the decrease of libido.

Decrease in libido is related to the reduction in naturally produced estrogen (in women) or testosterone (in both men and women). Some of the main symptoms of low libido include reduced sexual desire, less frequent sexual thoughts and fantasies, less frequent masturbation, and reluctance to initiate sex. Low libido caused due to the hormone deficiencies can be treated by hormone replacement therapy.

If you suspect you are suffering from low libido then it is better to consult your physician to make sure that a medical problem is not to real problem for your low sex drive. If your physician states that your decrease in sexual desire is not due to medical problem, then you need to seek the advice of a mental health professional. Counseling can help you to get out from depression or anxiety.

These days, there are many companies that offer libido creams and other natural products. Both men and women suffering from low libido can improve their sex appeal and romance with these libido supplements.
