NCAA Drug Testing - The Right Thing To Do

In today's society with all the performance enhancing drugs available, it is nice to see the ncaa drug testing college athletes. It is time that we get a handle on it and offer help, education, and the resources to help our youth of tomorrow.

It is sad to see so many professional athletes taking drugs to help their performance for only a short period of time in their career, with such long term effects in their life.

As a former major league ballplayer, it saddens me. It has tainted the game of baseball and other sports and has caused irreversible damage to the athletes themselves and to their families.

With ncaa drug testing it is nice to see that we are trying to watch out for our kids while they are still young and hopefully stop them from trying to imitate what others before them have done. What our kids don't realize is that performance enhancing drugs and all types of drugs for that matter, cause damage to the body in the long run. There may be a short term gain that brings about a feeling of super human strength, but the long term effects can bring about devastating results.

With ncaa drug testing, hopefully we can prevent such tragic events in our college athletes. I highly endorse what the ncaa does in this regard and it can only help with education and positive reinforcement of hard work, determination, and doing what is right.

It is sad that major league baseball took so long to enforce steroid and performance enhancing drug use through a congressional hearing, but something had to be done and is still being done. It would be nice to see a two year ban for first offenders and a lifetime ban for any other offenses.

Ncaa drug testing will help with college athletes in all areas. Not only preventing drug use, but educating them through positive reinforcement and teaching them about hard work and dedication the old fashion way and about what is morally and ethically right. To educate them early on so they don't make the mistakes that my generation has made.

The ncaa offers a plethora of information in all areas regarding college life. But to learn more on ncaa drug testing visit my site and click on "ncaa drug testing" on the main navigation bar. On this page will be the ncaa address to navigate to for more information as well.
